Have read with interest the posts on motor mounting heigth. Does this same advice apply to a 2310 DV with notch transom. It sems most posts reference modified Vs on brackets. thanks

It applies, have vent/cav plate at the water's surface. Typically those with OB brackets can just run them a biut higher, as the water exiting the hull goes up (allegedly 1" for every 12" of setback) as it leaves the hull bottom.

Remember, with a stock OEM, non-premium prop, you can't run an OB as high as you could if you had a premium design (rake, cupping or both, or a 4-blade) wheel installed.

My #1 boating pet peeve is that boat's wear the wrong prop most of the time, even when rigged from the dealer.

My #2 boating pet peeve is that most dealers mount the OBs too deep ...

yep!

and the whole reason is

#1 The flunky that is putting them together does not know any better.

#2 The dealer doesn't care how much your fuel bill is....as long as the motor will turn the operating range of RPM.

#3 their just gonna throw a run of the mill Stainless Prop on it.

------------------------------------------------------------

But why can they get away with it?........Cause Joe Q public does not know any better.

I've seen it all to much myself.

Eric at Parker says it should be mounted on hole #2 from the top. I am not at the boat right now but I think that is where it is mounted. Think I will try one more hole down to raise it a little. I still have a stock prop. Does any one have any recommendations for a better prop on the 2310?

Thanks for the help.
