Has anyone successfully enlarged (deepened) the shallow transom fish box in the 2510? Are there any structural members prohibiting such deepening? Thanks.

Im assuming you have just the 1 big box that opens on both sides? You could lower the box thats in there just make sure the bottom of the box is higher than the thru hull on the side. Not sure how much of a drop there is now. Either that or it will have to drain into the bilge. I have thought about doing it but then you really lose the space underneath it.

Yes, this the single shallow transom box on a 2002 2510. That's a good point about the drain. Unless I want the bilge smelling like my bait box, I can't lower the box below the existing side drain. This particular boat is an inboard/outboard so cockpit space is at a premium.

This a super clean boat that I am seriously considering buying. But the lack of a useful transom fish box would be a deal breaker. My heart just sank when I opened the lid. I couldn't believe that such an obviously hardcore fishing boat would have such a useless transom box. There's barely room for ice.

I think youll be pretty surprised when you start putting fish in there. Weve had several big dolphin, and snappers and didnt even begin to fill the box. Weve also had over 100 empty beer cans which didnt fill it either. You can always use the transom as a kill box and get a fish bag. I like that idea because when you get to the dock you just pick up the bag and off you go without having to transfer into another carrying case or cooler. Its been discussed on here before about putting an in deck fish box if you wanted to. or just bring some more coolers. Then on days you dont fish you can bring chairs to replace the coolers.
