My neighbor and I both purchased our Ford pickup trucks in 2004. His being an F-150 extended cab 4x4 with a short bed and the 5.4 gas engine. Mine being an F-250 super duty with the extended cab 4x4 short bed and the 6.0 Powerstroke and 6 speed tranny. He talks about how well it pulls his 21' Bayliner Cuddy Cabin but his fuel mileage is awful. I pull my 23SE with a T-top full of gas and fishing gear and 3 people. I hardly know it is behind me. I took a ride with him and I tell you, my F250 rode much better than his F150. My fuel mileage pulling my Parker or my 16' stock trailer is around 15 mpg. I get an unbelievable 21 to 22 mpg on the open highway of straight driving. My F250 has been the best vehicle I have ever owned. 150,000 miles and just started on my second set of tires.

My mileage drops from 19 mpg to 8.9 mpg on the highway with the wind behind me, OD off, towing the boat. I lust after an F250 diesel but it just ain't gonna happen any time soon.
