Its been a long journey it seems, but after years of wanting a pilothouse, I finally bought my '89 25SC Souwester, and I am really gonna need help and advice bringing her back up to par. The previous owner had already made a lot of upgrades. The electronics finally made the sale for me. Garmin 2010 color with transom transducer, Furuno 586 color with glassed in thru hull airmar, auto-pilot, Bennett 18" tabs,Guest remote control spotlight, Electric windlass and plow, Mercury smart guage, two new Batts, mostly re-wired with all blue sea, and more. Engine is 2002 merc optimax with about 500 hours showing on guage. All in all I'm very pleased and excited to start work on her, and to fish!! It's mostly cosmetics that I'm going to start with. Remove bottom paint and the boat name, gel-coat repair, buff topside out, window issues, etc. So, what do ya'll think? Oh yeah, this is my last boat. I retire in 2-3 years and that's my time frame to get it done.

Picture list is backward, sorry. First time you know.

It looks like you have a good sound boat to work with and a little TLC and you have a great boat. It does need work but it is a labor of love. I enjoy working on my boats as much as I do using them. My last boat before my Parker was a 1973 Aquasport 22.2 and I had a great time restoring her and when I was done it looked like a new boat. Good Luck with your boat and enjoy it.

Welcome Aboard Ray!

What a Classic ClassicParker! We're gonna have a ball here on ClassicParker with your new ride! You've already whet our appetite with your photos. 8)

Looks like she's in good shape and gonna give you many more years of service while you restore her to her original lustre.

Nice boat and well rigged. You will love it!

Maybe you could call Parker and get the original Southwester stickers to replace the existing... That would be nice. Or most vinyl shops could reproduce it.

Good luck with your new boat! Just a quick question for anyone using the guide on posts like the ones in the above pictures. The boats beam increases around midship, doesn't it get hung up backing off and loading since the beam is narrower in at the stern where the posts are set?

Same year as my walk around. Best of luck to you. Wait until you get a buffer on that old gel coat. It will shine up like a new penny.

Love the boat. I think you're in for a fun ride with this project. The best thing about a Parker is how well it adapts to an owners personality. I think it really is up to your imagination and the possibilities are endless.

Just to throw in my two cents. When I start planning anything I draw something up and set it aside. I try to draw it several different ways, each time setting the drawing aside and coming up with something completely different. It’s kind of like looking at it from different perspectives. Then I try to put them all together. It helps me anyway.

Good luck, and keep the pictures coming.

Thanks for all the comments and encouragement. I plan on fishing with her mostly, and family fun days. ( 4 grandchildren who love the ocean) I'm not a diver so, yes, the tank rack is available. As a matter of fact, I took it out a few days ago, along with removing the bimini. We've had her out on the intercoastal a couple times already, and its just great. I don't know how I've done without a windlass all these years. I'm going to contact Parker about the logos and several other items, which brings up my first question. Is it better to phone the factory, or e-mail questions? I'd also like to know a little about the construction of the transom in 1989, whether it has any wood in it or not.
That is a Loadmaster trailer, I picked it up at the factory on my way to get the boat. FishFactory, you're right about the guide on bunks. I added them to my last trailer to help with loading, and I will be doing the same here.
The first thing I'm doing is building a boathouse to put her in. I will be installing two hoists so I can pick her up and remove the trailer to better facilitate working on the bottom paint removal.
I will make my future posts about her in the projects section. Please, everyone, hang in there with me until I get it done.
