I made my first ever Canyon run in my 2320 on Memorial Day. It was a 75 mile run and as soon as we stopped my buddy’s nephew was chumming over the side. We caught 6 skipjack tuna and a bluefin. We lost a mahi and what was probably a decent bluefin to stupid mistakes.

Nice fish... each trip out you will get to experience new things and learn something new. I'd say this trip you learned not to invite your buddy's kid out again!

The end game is very important with tuna. I have auto pilot and I never take it out of gear when we are hooked up. 3 guys are perfect for these type trips, one to the rod and the other 2 to leader and gaff. As long as everyone keeps calm and does their job you will be successful, experience and practice is the key
