I have fished the Keys for many years. The best I have fished with is Capt. Jack Carlson in Marathon. He runs a 31' Contender and is all about catching BIG fish.

Dave, it all depends on whether you're wanting to go off-shore or do some back-country fishing. Check out Bud n' Mary's Marina on Islamorada.

They can point you in the right direction, depending on what you want to target. FWIW, I fished "back-country" for Tarpon in May with Bill Bassett there and had a great time.

do a 3 day then drive north to marathon key and go on Mad dog they are 600 for a boat you will love em 31' just 4 guys...

Many years or tarpon and wreck fishing with Capt Paul, smaller boat but that simply means less $ and thus more fishing days.


Jack Carlson our of MarAthon is also excellent but less you are booking multiple days, good luck.
