I TOOK OFF MY DOWNRIGGERS...NEVER USED THEM. THEY WERE ON THE BOAT WHEN I BOUGHT IT..NOW WITH TO DO WITH THE FOUR EYSORE HOLES??? I DECIDED TO INSTALL FLUSH MOUNTED CLEATS...WELL I HAD THEM INSTALLED...IM HANDY BUT NOT THAT HANDY. THE GUY WHO DID THEM FOR ME IS GREAT. GREAT CUSTOM WORK DONE RIGHT...FABRICATED EVERYTHING HIMSELF. JUST THOUGHT YOU GUYS WOULD LIKE TO SEE.

I GOT THE CLEATS THEMSELVES AT DISCOUNTMARINESUPPLIES.COM...GOOD SITE BUT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT THAT GREAT... I GOT THE ATTWOOD STUD FLUSH MOUNTED CLEATS BUT THE PLATE THAT UNDER THEM WAS CUSTOM MADE BY A BUDDY OF MINE WHO IS A WELDER/FABRICATOR... HE MADE IT OUT OF RAW STAINLESS POLISHED IT ALL UP AND INSTALLED THEM FOR ME..
 
Those cleats look awesome great job done on them looks sweet as can be!!! What was the total cost on that job!!!

Just curious, (off-topic) how do you like that E-Tec on the back? Thing looks awesome back there. Is all their advertising and hype true? I love their commercials.
 
TO BE HONEST WITH YOU I HAVEN'T GONE ON A ALL DAY FISHING TRIP YET...BUT I DID TAKE IT FOR A COUPLE OF JOY RIDES AND SO FAR I MUST SAY I LOVE THE E-TEC...I HAD A 1990 JOHNSON 225 BEFORE I REPOWERED IN THE SPRING AND JUST THE HOLE SHOT ALONE HAS MY FRIENDS AMAZED AT THE DIFFERENCE....IT PUTS YOU ON PLANE IN SECONDS....I MEAN ONE, TWO YOUR UP. QUITE TOO. I DID MY RESEARCH ON ALL THE OUTBOARDS AND I FOUND THAT THE E-TEC WAS THE BETTER CHOICE...BETWEEN WEIGHT, FUEL ECON., AND NOISE THE NUMBERS THEMSELVES SOLD ME ON IT. I'LL LET YOU GUYS KNOW AS THE SEASON GOES ON HOW ITS TREATIN ME
