Anyone have a favorite fuel stabilizer they use. I get varying opinions from mechanics. Am storing my redone '91 25' Parker with 250 4 stroke Yamaha on it. Only for a couple of months but figure I should put some stabilizer in the tank. Also, should I run this stabilizer through the whole system before flushing and putting her to bed? Thanx.

I use Yamaha Ethanol/Fuel Stabilizer or Sta-Bil Ethanol treatment plus Yamaha Ring Free for every fill up. For winter storage I use the recommended amount for long term storage.

Better safe than sorry. Think about the cost to re-power.

I have started using the Startron Ring clean Plus as an alternative to the Yamaha Ring Free at about 2/3 of the cost of the Yamaha Ring Free along with Stabil 360.

I run Sta-Bil in everything. Just sold a boat that had fuel that was over 2 years old and stabil'd. Gas looked new and the engine started right up. Yes, you need to run it thru the system else you're wasting time. The gas in the tank will be stabilized provided it's well mixed, but the gas in the carb will cause issues. Not sure how it works with fuel injection, if any fuel remains in it's system and which can lead to evaporation deposits.

I use Aviation fuel which is already stabilized and run the engine after bleeding out tank fuel long enough to change fuel in VST If you cannot get AV GAS go to the big box store and but ethanol free gas. This should be in your engine from the filter on. This stops the corrosive behavior of ethanol

I ran avgas in an only panhead. I quickly learned that avgas has high lead levels which deposited on the plugs. From then on I started mixing regular gas with avgas. The panhead needed leaded gas for the valve seat area. This was before ethanol became the norm. If your plugs don't foul out then a non-issue.
