Boat is a 1986 25mv PH with a relatively new 225 Etec. Boat is in pretty good condition overall but I am in need of replacing the fuel fill hose on both port and starboard tanks. Can the hose be replaced without removing a section of the cockpit deck (in other words, can the new hose be "snaked" into place with the deck in place?)

I'd hate to cut the deck unless it is absolutely necessary but I realize that the fix would be rather easy.

Just replaced mine on a 23SE (2004). Not fun.. $8.50 a foot.

What in the world happened to ur fill hose? You should be able to snake it in. I know in my 253t0 u could get to the underside of the fill in the step in the cockpit and then it obviously has a way to the fill on the tank which should have a deck plate on.

If you can securely connect the new hose to the old, you should be able to pull the new hose in while removing the old.

I was able to replace my fuel fill hose without much of a problem.. I taped a piece of rope to the old hose before removing the old hose. To install the new hose, i taped that to the rope and gently pulled. New Clamps and I was good to go. Take your time and it is a rather easy project.

One trick we use it to snake a piece of long old garden hose or similar down the fill line, with the fill line removed from the tank. Then, once that hose comes out by the fill ... route it through the NEW hose, then tie the garden hose off by putting line through the garden hose and back up around the new fill hose and taping that line securely around the new fill hose.

Then when you pull the OLD hose out ... it pulls the NEW hose through right behind it :D !

You can also use this trick to MEASURE the length of new hose you need :) .
