I think the fuel pump is bad. The engine runs fine for a few minutes then dies. The fuse is ok, the pump is connected to electrical connector and bulb is full of gas.
A new pump for a Yam 255HP HPDI 4 stroke is an expensive part. Can the existing one be tested? It seems difficult to explain after I just the replaced all of the internal fuel filters (front, f shaped and internal VST )

YES, you can test it. you need a repair manual for the specs. for example on a 2 stroke you need a handheld vacuum pimp with the trigger. look in the manual for how long it needs to hold vacuum. you need to test both ports. i guess your speaking of low pressure pumps, like are on a 2 stroke

Ok thanks It is 4 stroke FI motor with electrical pump.
The pump works b/c as fuel is used the float activates and I can see the fuel level drop in the front fuel filter and it refills but motor stills dies and something new I noticed, when the key is turned off, something starts clicking on VST side and it is not starter b/c it is on the other side

I removed the fuel pump and tested it on the workbench connected to a battery. It runs fine and pumps water. This does not completely rule it out but it was not dead.
On the engine side fuel pump electrical connection, it has 11.67 V with the ign key on
The clicking noise is coming from the valve control on the throttle body
When the key off the electrical valve control on the throttle body #17 68v 1312 a-00-00 clicks for a couple of seconds when ignition key is turned off.
At this point I am not sure why the vst tank is not being refilled and kept full.
When I removed it the second time and removed the tank drain screw, very little gas came out but the tank was under pressure.
Any comments?
