IF I unscrew the fuel tank elbow will I get to the intake screen ? I replaced the anti-siphon valve and I still have low fuel volume. The boat will not run over 3000 rpms as it runs out of fuel. The fuel ball gets sucked in(crushes) on itself. Thanks for any help. Mike
 
The pickup in the tank is clogged. You have a mini screen Either in the Nipple that the fuel line clamps to or on the pick up tube. You need to remove the elbow that screws into the top of the tank & disassemble it. The mini screen is hidden in there. It will be clogged with orange rusty slime.
It is caused by moisture & gunk sloshing around the bottom of your tank (ethonal by-product). Remove the fuel sender & look in the tank, you will probably find some nasty stuff in the bottom of the tank. Suck it out with one of those old kerosene hand pumps. Once the tank bottom is clean I would add fuel stabilizer & some sort of water zorb, at every fill up. & keep your water seperater clean. Good luck. I had the same problem 2 years ago.
 
The screen should be at the bottom of the pickup; at least that is where it is on mine. Not sure of other locations for the screen but either way, it is easily cleaned. Slosh it/soak it in a small container of solvent or fresh gas. Maybe hit it with a little air from the opposite direction of fuel flow.

I had a problem with fuel flow after switching over to ethanol. The ethanol cleaned out all of the old dried varnish in the tank and clogged this screen. I had to clean it a few times but now (after two seasons) of ethanol the tank is very clean and no more problems.

Good luck trying to remove the elbow and pickup tube. Maybe the access panel wasn't cut exactly in the right place on the deck, but trying to get the elbow and tube up through the panel was brutal. The tube didn't want to bend AT ALL! I actually thought I was going to break it, so I didn't continue with the removal.

As it turned out, the pickup tube was fine and I only needed to replace the ASV. BTW - I called Parker and the extra elbow is indeed fitted with a pickup tube. There was some discussion that on a single engine configuration, the extra elbow may not be fitted with a pickup tube. It definitely is. You might want to consider switching the fuel line to that elbow if you only have one engine. Because it never had fuel through it, it may be perfectly clean.

Is your extra elbow connected to a second engine? or capped off?
I dont need it except as fully functional backup and wanted to know how to cap it off after installing the ASV b/c it does not have one now

Someone already removed the primary AS valve and did some type of hack on it. I will post a picture later

Lastly I am the mood to R&R everything from the tank to the engine.

Did you use 3/8" fuel line b/c I read some used 1/4"?

Just to be on the same page as the CP gurus, what is the preferred fuel line type?

How is the pickup tube connected to the elbow?
 
The extra elbow was not connected to a second engine since I only have one engine and it was capped off. The ASV elbow is a 3/8 to 3/8 Moeller. Something you might want to try first is to get a 3/8 to 3/8 straight through Moeller elbow without an ASV in it.

This will let you see if the problem is with the ASV. Once I removed the old ASV and tested with a straight through I got full fuel flow. I then replaced the straight through with the Moeller that had the ASV. And finally I replaced the bulb, also a Moeller. Everything works fine, now.

I had the same problem. Solution: I cut the next larger size access plate and centered it between both pickup's. Since the 2nd pickup is complete and functional but not used, I keep extra fittings and length of fuel hose aboard for redundancy at sea.
 
I agree and plan to change back to OEM with ASVs on both sides with new fuel lines and bulbs, and double clamps.
The elbows are 3/8" at each end.

Perhaps someone can explain this to me b/c I am thick

Aluminum fitting. 3/8" I.D. nylon tubing is chemical resistant. OEM replacement but I understand the 1/4" Aluminum fitting and
3/8" I.D. nylon tubing.

Does this mean the male end is 3/8" and the female side is 1/4"

I might be need them but dont know until I removed the existing and prefer to have the parts available
 
The Anti-siphon Valve is 3/8" at each end. Therefore, the female on the elbow needs to accept a 3/8" male. BTW - 3/8" by 3/8" is not the average ASV. Moeller has it in aluminum. Most ASV are 3/8" by 1/4" and are brass. That is not the one you want.
