...it comes out easily without removing the cabin door. On this particular year the drawer/sink/fridge/stove cabinet is screwed (horizontally) into Pressure Treated 2x2 cleats which run in a U shape outline inside of the cabinet base. These cleats are screwed to rough fiberglass box that is built up from the floor level and serves as a elevated mounting surface for the cabinet. Disconnect all of the plumbing, fridge, etc. and unscrew the cabinet it from the cleats. A 1 hour job max. and out the door you go with the whole cabinet, sink and all.
One issue you may want to ponder NOW is that some of the plumbing is going to be exposed when you remove the cabinet. The 5/8" water line that runs up from the fresh water tank to the pump (under the helm seat box) comes directly up through this raised fiberglass box and will be exposed and look out of place when your remove the base cabinet. The sink drain hose and some wiring is also exposed.
What ever seating you come up with may hide these issues but be assured the plumbing (especially the FW supply) is NOT in a very discreet location. Its basically a 1" PVC pipe surrounding the 5/8" supply hose that originates from below the raised fiberglass box.
Personally, I have no present need for the galley or extra seating. It mostly just got in my way for hard core diving and fishing. Coolers, scuba tanks and gobs of other gear now take the space of the former galley.
Althought I did it many times in her early years, my days of camping out or overnighting in the boat are over for now and probably forever. I understand why some folks like having this fluff (I liked it at the time) but I don't miss it one bit now and really could not do all the things I do with the boat, with that galley in the way. I obviously don't care as much about it "being pretty" as I do about it being functional. That's why I bought a parker in the first place; tough, safe, utilitarian and can change with your needs. I'm not trying to impress anyone with its beauty (its 17 years old) but it certainly gets the job done and handles all that I throw at it.
I did save all the cabinets/drawers/sink/fridge, stove etc., in case I ever do something stupid like selling the boat.
