Gas leak

Guys just want you all to check your water gas filter. I have the Sierra Marine® Fuel / Water Separator Assembly Filter and AquaVue™ Bowl for Mercury / Yamaha Style; Replaces Racor B320 - See more at: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/ ... mAwGi.dpuf. It's about 6 years old and I replaced the filter and O ring every year. Sometimes 2x a year. I smelled gas. I checked and found the o ring leaking. The bottom half where the water sits just popped off. I think the plastic threads just worn out. I replaced the filter and O ring and when I try to tighten the bottom bowl it got loose again. I bought a new one. Just check them. I would replace them after 5 years. This is very dangerous.

I use racor filters and clear bowls. A while back they changed the bowl o rings to green
