Hello

I have a 2009 25SE. I keep the boat like new, but recently had discolored water on the deck under the gunnel. After inspecting the issue it seems I have water intrusion in the a few gunnel rod holders and back cheat which has begun to rot the wood. This is surprising given the boat is not even 10 years old and all the hardware is original and in good share. I asked Parker about it and they said it was also very unusual.

Has anyone had a similar issue? If so, how to you fix it?

I took the rod holders out to inspect the wood and it was wet but not soft. I still have not been able to get the cheat off.

I very much appreciate any feedback!

I attached a few pictures.

Thank you!
Brian

I would remove the rod holders and cleats so the wood can dry.
Once everything is dry, coat all of the wood (and the mounting holes) with several coats of epoxy and re-assemble.
