After many years of wanting a pilothouse, I've finally decided to make it happen. I sold my 25' proline wac this past summer, and I'm presently looking at several older Parkers to make one mine. I really enjoy this site, have been lurking for awhile. I Hope I don't overstay my welcome with all the questions I'm going to be asking. I'm going south this week to check out a 25 sport cabin. If that doesn't pan out theres a 23 extended cabin not too far away that will be next. Thanks in advance guys for all your help I'm going to need. 8)

Welcome, Ray!!
I'm a Florida boy living in Lizella, GA. I just bought a new 2520 XLD about 3 months ago. It has proven to be the perfect boat for my wife and I. We're abt. 4 yrs from retirement and love to offshore fish. There's more than enough room. We fish out of Suwannee, FL. The boat handles very well in Gulf of Mexico chop and we feel very secure when things get snotty. Hope you have good luck in finding a Parker.....I don't think you'll regret the move. Any questions, just ask here.....there are some shorenuff Parker experts here.
Good fishing!

Thanks, Steve. It's been a few weeks, but I am sealing up a deal on a 25' sport cabin this coming week. It doesn't have a trailer, so I am looking for one now. Does anyone have a recomendation as to the right size? Will a 8000 lb gvw be heavy enough? I am looking for a used trailer just to get her home, and then I'll probably go shopping for a new one when I have more time. I don't know what she weighs with a 225 optimax on her. Can anyone help me out with specs? She's a 1989 model. Thanks, Ray

noted you have a 2520dv. do you think the mod v would have made a real difference in your ride on those snotty days? also, is the draft difference a consideration when you want to get shallow or do ever get in shallow?

reason i consider the mov v is less cost for one motor set up on mod v.

thanks...al and kathy

So Ray...did you get that deal sealed? If so....

Welcome to ClassicParker and the ParkerNation and your on-line Parker Owner's Manual.

WRT the trailer, did you pick one yet? I have a 2510 I tow all the time. The trailer is a 9,000 GVW, and the boat and trailer combo (with fuel, gear, ice, etc) weighs in at 8,200 lbs. The trailer weighs about 1,800 lbs. So the boat and all the gear weigh about 6,400 lbs.

I pulled into one of those VA weigh stations one time and asked them to give me the weight on each axle of the truck--trailer combo, so I have a good number on the weight of the boat and trailer.

Dave, I did get the deal done. I posted my first pictures on the All Parker Boats forum April 21. I haven't quite started work on her yet. I decided to build a boathouse first. I've always had to keep my boats outside, exposed to the elements and birds  , so I decided this time to do better. We're pouring the concrete next week on a 16'x40' slab. I should have the building done within a couple weeks after that. That's when I'm really going to start work on her. Thanks for asking about it. I'll be showing up on the projects forum shortly.I read the forums everyday, learning about all things parker and, well, just glad to be here.

Ray... Welcome aboard and congratulations on the "new arrival".

Thanks Captain, and I will post more pics shortly. First up will be removing bottom paint.
