Hello Parker owners. Love the site and some of the information on this site is priceless. So thanks for sharing.
I'm looking to purchase my first boat and I'm thinking of getting a Parker 2300SE cc. The new 2008 have an extended CC w/ a portable head
w/ is key for me since I have kids and it's a must to keep the wife happy. So I have a few questions on the 2300SE. Hope you can help.

1. I will be mostly fishing the great south bay in LI on the fly or on light tackle and I'm wondering has any one fished the flats w/ this boat or
has installed a poling platform on this model. I know Jones brothers boats offer the poling platform as an option on the 23.

2. Has any one customized the 2300CC w/ forward leaning post to aide casting when fly-fishing?

3. How does this boat handle in the open water on a good day? Any stories you can share..

4. Any recommendation on an engine size. The one I'm looking a has a 200HP on it.

5. Also the current 2008 2300SE (w/ extended CC) w/ 200 hp engine has a price tag of @ $42k. w/ no electronics.
Realistically what would be a good price for this boat.

Thanks

Welcome flycast.. yes this is a great site for us Parker guys.. I have learned a lot from these chaps :D

Thanks Hotrod and Bay Rat.
Bay Rat did you get your Parker form White Water marine?

Dont have one yet, I am in the process of getting hitched
so I guess I will be fishing my old center console for a little while longer.

I have been at white water a few times dreaming of the day that I hual her home.

Bay Rat. Nice one. Just like me. I'll let you know when I pull the trigger.

Flycast,
I'm also in the market for a 23cc for flyfishing. I've been on both parkers the 23 modified and the Dv. The dv out performs hands down. The only neg. for me is the bracket. That large console with the potti to me seems to big for a 23 cc. It's perfect for the 25. I was just was on a 25 steiger with that big console and it didn't over power. I'm between Parker, Steiger, and JB. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. They are all good boats.

Watukie,

Thanks for replying to the post. Yes I'm w/ you on the extended 23cc on the parker. The extended CC takes up to much room in the bow. But it's a nice feature to have especially if you have kids/wife on the boat. That's the reason I'm not looking at the 23 JB.
I'm in the process of test driving the Parker 23cc. So I will let you know.
Thanks

Welcome to ClassicParker and the ParkerNation.

You will find lots of good info on the various models and how owners have been using them and what they like and what they would change about them.
