Hello to everyone here on this great site. My friend and I found and purchased a Parker 1800 that was a victim of Katrina. We couldn't walk away from this beautiful but damaged lady and purchased her for a whopping $600.00. Her hull was in really good shape other than the bow rails were damaged beyond repair and when the oak tree fell on her, it pushed them down thru the fiberglass as well as the grab rail around the windshield was twisted and the center console was broken up somewhat., and there was a gouge in the left front of her hull that wasn't very deep, but about the size of a baseball.
Mike and I are repairing her on a virtually non-existant budget as my work has been very slow and Mike suffered a career ending stroke 4 years ago and is now on a low fixed income, but this boat has given us both some hope, something to dream about, something to look forward to and we spend as much time on her as I can afford in gas to travel back and forth the 25 miles to his house where she is parked.
Her engine is seized (94 140 hp Johnson) and when we pulled the heads off we found some rough spots in the cylinders but the motor is super clean, the tilt/trim works, and the lower unit seems in great condition, with clean oil and no metal..... Engine is on hold as for now due to finances so we are working on repairing the glass and gelcoating........
We have the console repaired now and awaiting the gelcoat and are almost done with the hull and she is looking better. We are currently looking for a new grab rail and windshield for the console. We are not going to replace the bow rail and have filled in the holes and gelcoated them.
As of now we know we need: grab rail, windshield, working toggle switches and curcuit breakers for the electrical panel in the console ( 7 of each) gauges (speedo, tach, fuel, volts), compass, seat cushions (front livewell seat and back, as well as the helm seat (we have the old Polar seat but the whole top is missing) the backrest is padded but the zip on cover is rotten from weather exposure) and the cushions for the 2 back compartments on the sides.
If anyone here has any of this stuff just laying around and is willing to part with it at a price we might be able to afford, please send me a PM, or post below as I will check back daily. Thanks in advance for the help, Fred

Awesome project. Welcome aboard!

Make a list of the items that you still need and I will look in my parts bin and see if I have anything already on hand that you might need.
I have a good stash of electrical parts that might be able to help with your project.

It would be a pleasure to see some of my extra parts go towards bringing this Parker back to life. 8)

Nice project and real good shape for $600. I'd say the Parker got the better of the oak tree. You might want to check older post in the "for sale tab" for some items

Welcome to Classic Parker

Great job :!:

Keep up the great work and keep us updated on the progress 8)

Welcome to ClassicParker and the ParkerNation and your on-line Parker Owner's Manual.

Nice work. When you have the tools and the time, it is always fun to do your own work and see the improvements on a daily basis.

On the rod holders, I used a variable drill bit (tapered) to do the holes, then a cutoff saw to cut the pvc from the edge down to the holes that I drilled. Then sanded them on a belt sander to round off the edges.... Made 8 of 'em all just alike, and sprayed 'em with Parker gelcoat to match the boat....

current "NEED" list: Grab rail for console

7 circuit breakers and 5 single pole toggle switches,
2 -2 way toggles

speedo, tach, battery gauge, fuel gauge

thru-hull transducer for Hummingbird "WIDE"

compass

someone to offer us a decent price for the lower
unit off the 94 OMC 140 (original paint barely worn
off the skeg, oil clean, no metal)(with drive shaft)

(we'll guarantee it* for 30 days)
Currently work has slowed considerably on our project due to finances but we hope that we'll be able to resume soon. We only pray that we'll have somewhere to fish after this BP fiasco that may wipe out our fishing grounds. As of today, the oil slick was less than 5 miles from out favorite fishing "hole".... Fred

the switches on the parker 12vdc panels are removable and of standard size, so that can be purchased at any west marine really...compass too...

like your project here keep the pics coming

Great job on rehab of Parker boat, Also you did n't have to pay a fortune, Hope BP accident(oil Spill) is not so bad. I used to love fishing around Dauphin Island, and Gulf Shores! My prayers go out to all the fishermen of the Gulf of Mexico!
