I am overhauling my hubs, and breaks on my trailer and this is turning into a mess...
I got everything apart and re-built my hubs, that wasn't too bad...
Then I took my master cylinder off because my breaks wern't activating (I have the kind of trailer that has a sliding hitch...forgot what it's called!)
Anyway, I got a new master cylinder and blew out the lines, so they are good...
Here's the problem...I took my calipers apart to replace the o-rings and seals, well they don't make my calipers anymore, so no parts anymore!!!
Called the company and they said I need to buy their replacement "upgrade" for each wheel...

Also I went and weighed my boat before I our last trip and realized that my axels and tires are not rated for the weight I have on them...
Thinking about just adding another axel (to make it three), or putting two new torsion axels and a whole new breaking system under my girl!!
Here's some pics of my setup...PLEASE HELP!!!

Keeo it in the water boats belongs in the water!!!!

Unfortunately I cant help you if you saw my trailer you would be scared, no breaks dry rotted wheels but it get me two and from the ramp twice a year

I know it might not be to much help but..
Your situation reminds me of Myself last year
I had a trailer that was about 9 years old needed brakes and springs new bolts etc...
It was almost the same to upgrade to a all new 6K trailer with torsion bars for the same money
The old one was a 5700Lb
Took the bite and now I have a heavier trailer and I'm good for a while ...Just my thoughts

I did tires, wheels, two new hubs, some bracket welding and a tow on a big A flat bed for $1,200.00. The first quote for $2,400 for all new axles and springs had me thinking of a new trailer.
From what I was told regarding trailer brakes.......salt water + trailer brakes = big problems. Lots of maintenance. Not sure if there are brake requirements in regards to the weight of the load but my rig came with out and I have been making out just fine with out them.
