Not quite a true 12" system but definitely cheaper than a 12" simrad.

I have a lot of tablets and use them for everything all over the house for my home automation, why not introduce it to the boat. A little heavy duty velcro and no huge holes cut into the boat. Paired nicely with the Go7, I can control the Go7 while at the helm or just use simrad navigate app on the tablet and keep the Go7 as a split screen sonar/side scan or just mirror everything to have it in the 12" tablet. The big plus here is if I'm anchoring and fishing out back, I'll grab the tablet and rest it on the cooler at the cockpit. It's not perfect but it's also not $2k either and I can even sit back and watch movie or youtube if I like. Maybe this can help someone else save a few bucks. 20210321_154612.jpg20210321_154054.jpg

I like!

The cost of marine electronics is astronomically high and I'm always happy to see a little ingenuity when possible.

I assume the tablet works off cell-signal so the ability to use such a device as a GPS is limited by cellular service? Or does this also have a built-in GPS?

That's something to consider when purchasing a tablet, fortunately this one on the boat has a built in GPS module. I have hotspot on my phone which I enable on the boat and have everything online near shore.
