My first car (bought just out of high school) was a 1969 Camaro SS.
If I knew then (back in the mid 70's) what I know now, I
never would have sold that car.
But... with the oil embargo and the long gas lines of the era, it seemed the right thing to do at the time. Stupid move.
Just try to find a
real 69 SS these days for less than 100 grand.
Of course, I'd also like to have a 32 Ford, a 40 Ford, a 40 Willys, a 66 or 67 GTO, a 66 Shelby GT500,
a
real Ford GT and a
real AC Cobra (the 427 model thank you)... I think you get the idea.
I've always been a car guy and will probably always be a hot rod junkie at heart, even if it is through the pages of
Hot Rod and
Muscle Car Review.
Maybe after I retire, I should pull the 4.0L out of my Cherokee and drop a small block crate motor in her.
There is a guy in this months issue of
Hot Rod that did that (and more) to an International Scout 80.
