This assure's that no water will get to the transom core. http://bertram31.com/proj/tips/sleeving.htm When we rebuild a transom for a bracket, knee's are added from the stringer's up the inside of the transom. Lokk to D&D Marine to save you some money on the bracket. I like to see the bottom of the tub have a "V" put in it to match the deadrise of the boat. Mine was $1675 for a twin bracket w/ a wider swim platform and the "V" in the bottom was $150 inc in the $1675. Bare alum IE No paint. In preping it for paint I had it sandblasted to etch the alum well.
