figured this might help someone as i had asked several questions on here prior to doing the install. so far it is working flawlessly.
hardest part was drilling a 3" hole in the pulpit. its about 3" thick. used 40' of #6awg. total cost was 1500.00 for everything needed.

Please tell me where you got the standoff , great idea ! Also, what battery did you choose for power or did you go to the battery switch ? I'm thinking of putting the (+) wire for the rocker switch on a accessory switch to prevent accidental deployment. How did you wire yours ? I'm installing the same one this weekend. Thanks !

i got the plastic standoffs from a local hardware store. lowes and home depot have them . they come in 1", 1/2", 1/4" sizes and i used 1 1/4". the separate switch would be a good idea i just trip the breaker when not in use and the anchor chain is secured with a clip and safety rope on the bow cleat when not in use. i would like to install a chain stop on the pulpit if anyone can recommend one. i connected to the cranking battery.

For that style breaker you can use a plastic 110V box and a blank cover plate.

They are talking about the little plastic standoffs where the circuit breaker is mounted.

That style breaker is supposed to have a cutout. But where he has it he does not want to cut a hole......So he used those "stand off's" .

I see what you are talking about now. I was wondering what those tow 90 degree elbows on the anchor well door were for

Those are called Doroado Scoops or Cowl Scoops. They are for forcing air in.

This is a fantastic addition to one of these installs.

Nice job. Have you used it much since you installed it? The reason I'm curious is I have the Lewmar Fishpro 700 that was a factory install. While I love it, it has a tendency to 'hang' when it gets to the chain. I talked to the Lewmar folks and they told me that is due to the drop not being sufficient. I measured it and it's right on the line of what they suggest. Depending on how the rode comes in and lays, sometimes it will pick up clean and keep coming, sometimes not. I'm interested to hear if you (or anyone else for that matter) has that problem. I have 300' of rope and 20' of chain.

I did the pro fish 7000 install on my 2120, have lewmar 8 plait rode, on occasion the splice between chain and rode does get "stuck" As it gets to the winless. I have found that as long as you bring it up onto the winless slowly there is no issue. On a very rare occasion I will have to reverse it slightly to get some momentum on the rode and retry but very rarely

To get the added drop. This is why that large block is added that the windless is mounted on....... Plus the chain doesn't scrape the pulpit.

so far no problems at all wih the windlass. yes once in a while it will hang at the chain/rode splice but i just let it down a few feet and back up. i probably didnt need 400' of rode but would like to have it for wreck fishing offshore. i was worried about the chain slapping the pulpit but have not had that problem. definately glad i went with the free fall model.
