I went on a sea trial on a 2003 23 DV with a 250 HPDI. Winds were 15-20 knots seas 2 to 4. The boat handled awesome. My 10 yr old loved when we launched over a breaker with a smooth re-entry. The boat is loaded with very good electronics. Custom t-top with rockect launcher, and spreader light forward and aft. Needs some cleaning and the vecro strip for the console seat is torn. Motor has 280 hrs. Owner had pretty good maintenance records. Talked the owner down to 28500.00. What do you think?

Hard to know for certain without checking comps in your area, but given the description you've given, it seems reasonable. That combination of hull, motor, and options is a very desirable package and should give you years of faithful service.

I haven't seen many 23dv's for sale to compare comps. I was also looking at at 2004 23se with 200 4 stroke super clean but not so hot on the electronics. The motor only had 180 hrs on the SE. I was very impress with the DV out in the open water.

the 23 DV is the best offshore CC out there for the money. i sold my 2004 loaded w/nice alum trailer for 46.5k in 2006. sold in 2 days. i would say that if the hull and engine are solid then it is probably a good deal. i would put down a deposit pending further inspection......primarily a compression check.

I'm working on getting a survey. I think it will pass with flying colors. This was the second time I have been on the boat. It seems solid

Like I said,I own a 2006 with 250 HP and its a work horse and like Jim says, best CC for the money, solid.

and the hpdi 250 should make that thing run real good.

My four stroke just doesn't push it like that HPDI would.

Sounds like a decent deal. You could probably get him down a bit lower. In 2007 I paid about 37 for my 04 - Pretty much loaded and mint condition. Had 285 hours... Lets say two years have gone by (2009) and I tried to sell it - I'd be hoping for what???

Cheers!

Depending upon how desperate he is, you may get him down a bit more, BUT $28.5K is a good price for a great boat. I paid $30K for my 2000 model with SWII 250 HP in 2006.

Ditto the comments on the 250 HPDI. It had many updates that had to be done and they are hard to sell and there is plenty of information about them on TheHullTruth and not much of it is good.

I would not buy a boat with that engine no matter what the price was. Do the research and decide for yourself. Good luck.
