There is a 2510 brand new leftover at my dealer that has been sitting there for over 2 years. How much of a discounted price should I be looking for? I really want to bump up to 2520 but if the price is right..........

I just bought a boat been around for about a year and had a 2012 new Yammie, I bought this year and got 18% off what they were asking, but thinking I oculd have done better, but in the end I am very happy, had a good experince with the dealership and still do. Good luck! Never hurts to make them an offer and see what they say!

Thanks for a repy. I was figuring at least 20% off the 2012 price, but like you said toss out an offer and see what they say.

Good luck John! Not sure what the differnces are in the two like Warthog said, but hes forgotten more about these boats then I know, so yo may want to ask. Have a great weekend!

A LOT of difference in a 2510 and 2520.
What do you think the major differences are?

The hulls are the same between the two, but the topsides are completely different.
If the 2510 has a hard top and curtains, it can be almost as protected as the 2520, but that eisenglass can be difficult to see through clearly at night or in the rain due to the distortion.
The raised helm of the 2510 does have its advantages, but the 2520 has more open cockpit floor area.

Just two very different boats built on the same hull.
Walk-arounds are a popular design with a lot of folks, with the 22 Seafarer Grady probably being one of the most popular of that type.
So far as production numbers, I don't know for sure but I would bet that Parker builds a lot more 2520's than they do 2510's.

Parker discontinued the 2110 a while back, but they still produce the 2310 and 2510, so there is a market for them.
Make the dealer an offer. If it has been sitting there that long, they might just bite.

Edit:
For what it is worth... The original owner of my boat told me that it also sat on the dealers lot for about two years before he bought it.
He told me he stopped several times the first year on his way to the beach just to sit on it.
Finally, by the second summer, with the boat still there, the dealer agreed to his offer.
I suspect my boat was ordered by someone who wanted to fish offshore, and just didn't have the options most folks wanted.
It has the open back (which I love), 3 fuel tanks (which my dealer says they have never seen before), and it did not have the rear station (which I added later).

Oh... and the place that originally sold my boat is no longer a Parker dealer.

I am aware of these differences as I have had my 2120 for 8 seasons now and know the Parker line fairly well. I agree about seeing thru the glass, as that is an issue with friends similar boat and can be annoying if it is very rough out.
My main goal here is to have a boat that I can feel a little safer with running out 40-60 miles looking for bluefins and on bluebird days make the additional 20 mile run to our local canyons.
I am going to wait till the end of this season and make them an low ball offerr, if they bite, great if not then I am leaning towards a 255 Steiger with a 300 yami at around 73 k.

With that goal in mind, I think the 2510 would be a good choice.
The wider beam of the Parker makes it an especially good choice.

That 8'6 beam on the Steiger is what kept me from pulling the trigger at the AC Boat Show. Everything is a compromise with boats so if I can land this 2510 at the right price I'll deal with it :D I wrote the dealer an email yesterday, waiting for them to get back to me.

John,

Is it a 2510 XL or XLD? Of course my preference for offshore is the DV. I fish with the Otherline on his 2520 XL and if seas are predicted to be 3 ft (or more) we take my 2320. Much better ride when it's rough.

The 2510 is one of the best looking boats Parker makes IMO. Go for it.

John I was roughly 25 miles out of my 2320 last weekend, had a great ride! My dealer did tell me and I have looked into it the walk around boats are hard to sell. I see some of them in my area, but I know after looking at one I was not interested. I wanted the cabin for the extdned fishing it would give me. Shawnee put an AC in his and I plan to do the same thing, but can't wait for Fall fishing! Good luck, I just don't think you can go wring with a Parker IMHO. :D

It's an XL. I am wondering if someone ordered it and then backed out. It does have eisenglass surround and a lewmar pro fish as well.

I have a '05 2510 MV with twin 150's. Great boat, but if I were going offshore I would probably get a DV. The boat is great and for my fishing, way more boat than I need and I should probably downsize. The MV very stable drifting which is what I tend to fish most.
