I have mine mounted on the pulpit with a remote control inside the cabin. I have seen many people with them on the roof.

I have a Guess remote controlled light mounted on the top front of the pilothouse now. I used a handheld for years, and was satisfied, but my new ride had this one already installed. LOVE it. Its one of those things that once you have it, you don't want to go back, even though you probably never would have bought it in the first place.

No its made out of 1/2" Black Starboard. You can see to the right of the steering wheel where the remote is mounted. Just to the left of the switch panel.

i have a setup very similar to bradvs, except that instead of mounting it over the anchor rode on the pulpit, mine is mounted on a bracket on top of the pulpit rails. its basically a sheet of brushed stainless that wraps around the rails on either side and then bolts to itself. im pretty sure its a custom piece (was on the boat when we bought it) but it probably wouldnt be hard to fabricate something similar. another idea is, depending on how the light mounts, to get some angle joints that fit over the bowrail and a few pieces of scrap rail, and mount all of the above to the rail so that the mounting bolts go into the rails. downside is, you have to drill your bowrail. i believe there was a post of someone trying to do this on a CC a while back?

edit: found the link. scroll down the page a bit for picture. a link to a pic of my setup is there as well, if interested.

In the interest of this thread I have a question of my own..

Does anyone have experience with mounting a light on the top of a 23se. I have a hard top so the mounting would be easy, I am concerned about the functionality of the light. I have been on many boats where all you get is glare. I have no bow rails....

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Pete

pmeggers you might want to call someone who sells lights and see if glare is a function of cost.
