Ok i have a 2006 2820 cockpit 131"x 90"

so heres the question do i get the 48" unit or the 38" wide unit either will have a 50 gallon tank,

i plan to install just far enough back, behind cabin door to allow for two people to be seated as you walk around them

The feed back i am looking for is this......

1) If i plan to have the 48" it will definately seat 2 persons of size it will leave 20 inches of passage on either side thats as much as the door so i good

vs. the 38" model

2) do i need that much with to seat" the 36" model is not much less in cost

3) main reason for the unit is 4 fold,
A)A LIVE WELL
B) a tackle and bait station
C) a place to sit outside while under way
D) Ability to remove seat in cabin and possible add a fridge micro combo unit in future...

I cherish my cockpit space and is one of the main reasons I purchased a Parker. That been said, if I was going to add a large bait station like this one. Go Big....36" is a little tight for two adults and 6" on either side is not going to make or break it. If possible maybe make a mock up out of cardboard that you can set on the boat for a visual. I like the layout of that station and the extra rod holders.....Nice piece.

Seems like with the unit shown, you don't get either a good seat or a good live well.
Why not just put a good quality livewell and get a couple of nice stainless chairs from West Marine?

Well let me see, its a parker, there little or no storage for my fishing gear and since i dont fish from inside the cabin thats out!!!!

Oh yeah.....the reason and topic of this post is

ITS A PARKER!!!
so it doesnt have a place to sit outside or a live well or stowage

..AWAY from the areas i fish...
I NEVER FISH STANDING IN MIDDLE OF COCKPIT BY MY CABIN DOOR to do anything so the space is a waste!!!!

Dont want chairs had em on my last two boats they r dangerous in rough seas and hard to stow

Dont want people rigging up cutting on my gunnels id rather have em rigging/cutting out of my way so i can fish with out moving around them

Plan to do a lot more off shore stuff and the guys can stand and hold on to the grab handles ... too !!! 5 more rod holders, a place for knives and pliers.....

The inside of this tank is oval the fish live fine (there are no "Corners" to get stuck in "

I purchased the 2820 intentionally to have the extra space to do this, so far most who replied have smaller boats so they are having a hard time understanding just how long the cockpit is and how better to utilize this space wisely
