Hi everyone,

Im new to this forum and currently considering the purchase of an 03' 2120. Although I had heard of Parker before I had a chance to check them out last week and loved the open layout and build quality of the boats. The specific boat i am considering has a yamaha 200 4 stroke with less then 400 hrs and looks to be in great shape. The asking price is 22k without a trailer. I am planning to use this boat for bay fishing, 7-10 mile offshore fishing trips and occasional 30 mile rides to a local island. Based on what I have seen around this seems to be a good deal as the boat also comes with newer electronics (radar, gps, fishfinder). I would like opinions as to whether this is a good deal and what things to check for. Also will the boat suit my needs well? My last boat was a 1986 wellcraft v20 and i only used it for near shore fishing. How will the ride compare? I know with the forward pilot house you will have extra movement in a head sea but i cant imagine with a 21 degree deadrise it will be too bad. Thanks in advance.

One other thing i forgot to ask. I have gone through the nightmare of removing a leaking aluminum tank from my last boat. I really dont wanna suffer the same fate anytime soon but the fact that there is no fuel access panel on this boat scares me. Any good way to check and insure that the fuel tank is sound? What life span can I expect from the tank given the boat is an '03?

That sounds like a good deal to me. If it had a trailer It would be perfect. Three years ago I picked up a 2120 DV with a 150 4 stroke (around 200 hrs) and a 9.9 kicker 4 stroke for $22K with the trailer and 13 rod and reels and three downriggers. The guy was giving up fishing for health reasons and hooked me up. Since then I've been seeing the prices of Parker boats in that range start to trend down. I was at the providence boat show and sat down with Tom from Don's Marine about trading in my 2120 for a New 2320 (the one at the show was 69K with a 250 4 stroke on her) He broke out the blue book and quoted $15K for my ship as a trade in, but said If i did the broker thing or private sale I could get around 22 or 23K for it. Hope this information helps a little.

Captain Bill
