I live in Delaware and fish's off the coast
When you're out at the seabass pots
And there's mali mali all around the boat
They will bit the chum what kind of rig and bait do you use

the easiest thing you can do is have a simple spinning/casting set up ready.

i use a trevala tvs66m with a saragossa 5000 spooled with 30# braid to a 6’ 25# fluoro leader to a strong 5/0 circle hook.

when you come up to a pot that has mahi on it, throw out some handfuls of 1/2”x1/2” cubes of cut up bait or small fish like peanut bunker.

that should get them going.

then “mix in” a piece with your hook hid in it and flip it into the action…:)

You can use cut bait such as sardines, butterfish etc but sometimes they are very picky esp if the pots have been hit often. Live bait such as peanut bunker or killies work well and usually get them going. Sometimes if you leave one hooked the rest of them get aggressive and feed. I usually use 30# flouro on a light pinning setup with a regular 4/0 or so gammi hook.
