I want to replace the "L-shaped" supports (see image) which seem to be made of some type of laminate from Parker. Thinking about using a strip of starboard 3-4 feet long, SS bolts every 9-10 inches, good dose of 5200. Starboard would also give me a good surface to screw in hooks to hang dock lines, gear bags, etc.

I am guessing others have made this repair, as the original install does not strike me as very durable. Would like to hear your ideas.

Thanks,

Bryce

I would scuff and clean the mating surfaces of the supports and bond them in place with something like this stuff...screw back in place to align and draw things up tight.

Would not use starboard for anything structural like this, but sounds like a great idea for adding accessories up under there too. Btw...5200 does not stick to starboard at all, but sticks well to pvc (most composite/plastic trim like Azek).

thanks Brad...when I did my homework I learned (as you pointed out) that very few adhesives bond to starboard.

I'll see if I can talk Parker out of a replacement tab...it was missing when I bought the boat.

thanks again for your input!

Make one.

It's the perfect little fiberglass project to learn on.

Screw 2 pieces of 3/4in plywood together. Bullnose the inside corner to round it over. There's your mold.
