With my brother in town for a week, we were determined to make it out. Weather cooperated enough to let us push out 25 miles to 100'. Forecast 3-4' at 7 seconds was pretty close. Spaced just enough to be able to run 25 knots without too much teeth jarring. Trolled for a couple hours before setting up on some live bottom. Boxed 3 slinger dolphins and one nice gaffer, plus 4 fat alberts. Had several jump off and more runs with no hookups. Bottom action was pretty good with beeliners, sea bass and grunts. Couldn't find any keeper grouper, only 1 short gag. Bonus cobia right before we picked up to head in. A 7-8' tiger shark cruised up to the boat with about 9 cobia in tow. I grabbed my pitch rod with a big bucktail and managed to get one to pick it up. All in all a very good day! Long time coming.
