I'm running a 225Etec on a 25mv PH. Right now, the motor is mounted in the 2nd Hole from the top meaning that I can raise the motor another 2 holes or about an additional 2-3". I know that I have too much of the lower unit dragging in the water based upon observation of the water flow across the anti-cavitation plate while at a 4000rpm cruise.

For you guys who are running a 25MV, what hole is your motor mounted within? Third or Fourth from the top? This feedback will get me started in the right direction.

Thanks

225hp with 4-blade prop, motor on transom bracket, mounted as high as she can go ... but this is on a mod-V hull.

Thanks Dale. Mine too is a MV so we are the same there. But mine is a transom mounted motor so we will differ a bit here.

Do you find that the 4th hole isn't high enough? Do you have a need to go higher?

I can't go higher ... mounted all the way up.

What's I'd do is look over the stern @ fast cruise and normal trim position and see where the water is on your vent plate above the prop. Water should be at or just over the plate. If burined, you can go up, but note direct-to-transom mounted OBs do need to be mounted at a lower bolt-hole than one on a bracket.
