Picked my boat up from Beaufort, NC getting home midnight Tuesday. Truck towed it with zero trouble and feels more than capable.

Very pleased with condition of boat though i do have some small gel coat repairs to do. Also going to do full maintenance list on HPDI when i put her up for the season in Dec.

The 23 is BIG (seems to be everyone's reaction to it too) but that's ok by me. Will take some getting used to for sure. Sea trial was out of Beaufort inlet to Cape Lookout with a n. wind blowing 15+. Boat was great and we managed 20+mph in the rough stuff. Tops out around 40 without fiddling with trim (didn't have enough room to trim it just right in the calmer areas) and has more than enough power. Can certainly see where it might run ok with the f150.

Favorite thing about the boat is that it doesn't stand up when getting on plane. 21's i trialed did this briefly but the 23 shows far less of this. LOVE the big console and electronics box and the ttop on mine is very, very nice. Just feels good standing at the helm.

HPDI is plenty strong but is definitely not f225 quiet particularly at slower speeds. I'll live with it for hopefully 7yrs or so then repower with something quieter if need be. Just wasn't worth paying the premium for a 4 stroke to me.

Trailer had no brakes when I got there so we had Outer Banks Boat Harbor in Harkers throw on a set of Kodiak cad plated discs. Was REALLY impressed with that operation and recommend them to anyone within a reasonable distance for trailer work.

Stopped by Parker factory but noone immediately avail. to do tour (wasn't a friday) and i didn't want to pester. Saw some other 'factory' locations down there and it was interesting to say the least.

Was nice to go from 50 degrees and most boats out for the winter here to 60+ and busy ramps down there. What a fantastic fishery they have down there! Not sure i'd want to live there year round but the fishing/boating water is really something else. Had some free time and spent it getting familiar with the area as i will definitely be making some trips there in the future. At least once a year would be nice.

JD, welcome aboard. Nice ride. Sorry you missed the plant tour. It is a great operation. Best of luck to you.

I am a proud owner of a 2004 23SE. I've owned several boats in the 23-24' range and this is by far the best. The more I use her the better I like her. Great boat. Congrats on your purchase.

JD,
The boat looks great in the picture. I have a 2000 21 SE that I really enjoy, and in my opinion, Parker boats are big boats for their size. I spend my weekends in the Beaufort area, let me know when you are coming back and maybe we can get together.

Looking at the homes in your picture, and the fact you towed 350 miles, you in the NOVA/DC/Maryland area?

Craig

Thanks for the congrats guys! I can not wait to get out fishing. Probably won't be putting big hours in until next weekend unfortunately.

Craig that's a good guess. I'm on the md. shore...just outside of OC. Love the water here and all the good things it brings (crabs, rockfish, etc) but our boating and fishing just looks sad compared to the opportunities along the NC coast. Am going to read up on Outer Banks fishing as well and find out what that's all about.

Jack's Dad, I just got a 2010 23SE and have it Kent Island for another couple weeks until I bring it home north of Baltimore for the winter. In the Spring I'll put it on my lift in north OC near Harpoon Hannas. We should get together for some fishing in the Spring. Are you going to the OC boat show in Feb? Seadog

Jack's Dad, I used to live in Salisbury. I miss English's sweet potato rolls and Thrasher's french fries.

Congtulations - We are on our third year with the 23SE bought brand new and have not had a minutes regret. I fish the lower Delaware Bay and surrounding ocean waters. It is the perfect boat for this area. You will enjoy.

Probably not doing the boat show as i've got mine now;)

Definitely happy to have company this coming spring!
