Hey guys bout to by my first Parker I wanted a deep v but found a great deal on a modified v is there a huge difference between the 2? I plan on doing a lot of tuna fishing 3 to 15 miles off shore on anchor what do you guys think thanks

I had the exact question when I bought mine. I noticed the ride was better in a deep-v but fishing at anchor is way better w/ the mod-v. Yes, some people are going to say the ride is worth the extra money but if your tuna fishing....you spend a majority of the time on the hook. I fish coastal and offshore in Maine and the mod-v has been great for me!
The way gas prices are climbing, twin o/b's...twice the maintenance and you tuna fish, go mod-v! My grandfather used to build boats and said that a deep-v is great for summer folk cocktail parties but poor for the working man!

Well I Toona fish off Cape Ann, MA out to 20+ miles and I to have a mod-v hull. I have said it MANY times on here ... when it is too rough to SAFELY stand aboard my cockpit deck to fish ... We ALL turn around and head to the barn ... mod-V or deep-V.

The only difference is they get out there faster and home faster.

If I had my druthers, a deep-V with 2 smaller OBs would be the way to go. FYI, my bro runs a deep-V (22-degree?) GW 23 WA w/ twin 150s, turns screws for almost 50 WOT and yet his fuel burn ain't more, if anything when I had a single 225.

IMHO most w/ twin motors run too much HP ... but I'm admittedly 'old school' ...
