I have been trying to sell my 23' Parker Deep V Walk around and not getting where. Can somebody please offer some insight on where I should be pricing my boat at.

I don't think I'm asking too much for an exceptional boat.

Any thoughts, thank you in advance.

boat looks great, i'm not sure what similar boats(yr, make 7 engine) are selling for but first thing that comes to mind is that it may be underpowered with the 150. maybe you should post fuel burn, cruise and top end speed

I think you may be right, several people have questioned the motor. I have never had an issue with the 150. The hull is only 2600 lbs.

Thanks for the insight.

Couple quick thoughts, regardless of the condition - when people see an older boat and motor, they automatically question the value of the rig in case they need to repower it in a year or two.

That's just a fact of life. Add to that the bias of it being a 2-stroke motor and 'smaller' than they would prefer ... and you see the result.

One way to head off such fears would for you to pay for a condition/value survey, which I would estimate to run up to $500. Having that in hand might help and it can also be used to help the prospective buyer obtain financing!

For a nominal fee, Anglers Edge will post it on many sites. I think it is around 300 dollars now. Other than that go Craigslist and Boat Trader.

I currently have it advertised on Craigslist, Noreast, and Classic Parker and Boat Trader. I was looking into Ebay but they didn't look very promising. I also have flyers at several local marinas.

As suggested, posting fuel burn, cruise and top end speed will help allay concerns about being underpowered. You should also give actual hours rather than "low hours."

What about details on the electronics (e.g model numbers), bottom paint, service history, the trailer, etc, etc. You need to give more details and more pictures in your ad.

The boat looks very clean and you need to convince someone to take a look at it!

I agree totally with Dale. Older 2-stroke engine means somebody will buy it for the value of the hull alone and hope to get a season or two "free" from the engine. Not right, and not fair, but how I think it is!

I really appreciate everybody input. I made some changes to my ad on CL and have several appointments booked for the weekend. Hopefully this works out so I can get the Parker 1801 I have had my eye on.

Thank you for all your input, with everybody's valuable input I was able to sell the boat today.

Now I'm off the find a 1801 in the NY Area.
