The canvas guy came today with the first part of the new enclosure. He installed the bimimi framework and made a pattern for the top covering. Next will be the the patterns for the zip in sides and stern area. Im also having a full cover made and I will send pictures as it comes together.

What a good start and alot of covered space
What are you using for fabric and color, and windows?
Will it be level with the roof or higher? It looks higher
Any issues with boarding? or is the strap going to the cleat temporary?

Yes its huge. At first I thought Barnum and Baily Big Top Circus Tent. But to accomplish the full enclosure thats what it is. The fabric is Subbrella in a green or teal color. We were going to do the traditional blue, but everyone has that. I had a red top on the last boat and it would radiate heat from the dark color, so we went with a lighter shade. There will be windows on all panels for visability. 3 panels on each side and 2 on the back. Yes its alittle higher than the roof, I think at 76 inches. The straps you see are for mock up. The only straps will be at the rear. As I see it, the issue with boarding, you will have to duck alittle when entering from a dock, if the top is deployed.

thanks and please post follow-up pictures.

Is this cruising or better weather protection?

Looks like a boater-home.

I think the way we plan to use bimini is when we are traveling and or fishing it will be stowed with the boot on. The Rocketlaunchers are completely accessable that way. With the top out it will limit fishing space. I will be able to unsnap the section were a rod would be or step out and reach over the top.
Its definetly weather protection when we reach a destination for the night. Here on the west coast we are lucky that we have year round use of the ocean.
