Just wondering what the standard height is for a comfortable leaning post. The one I am about to order says 32"... is anyone have one a little higher? I am 6' tall.. and am replacing cooler seat.

offduty 5,

The leaning post in my 1800 is 30 1/4" to the top of the seat. I too am 6' tall and I consider mine to be very comfortable for both sitting and leaning. Mine does not have a footrest as the one you show does, so my feet do not hit the floor when fully seated on top. I have taken to using a collapsable stool to put my feet on when running seated for a long period. Here's a couple pictures of mine:

Hey Cap’n Dan- I like your set up- nice and clean. I am contemplating removal of my heavy and useless baitwell/seat factory set up. We never use the well and it is always damp.

PS It appears in the second picture that your stern battery boxes are open to the elements?

saltydoc,

That photo was taken right after I got the boat "rebuilt" and repowered. I had not yet reinstalled the battery box covers, the wood furniture (hatches, etc.) or the swim platform. I actually had all of the upholstery redone to match my leaning post. I still have not reinstalled the wooden parts that I remade from cumaru (brazillian teak) that I am currently epoxy barrier coating and varnishing for UV protection - I hope to have it back on by spring.
