Good evening everyone. Well today i just bought a 1995 Parker 2320 gonna have it delivered this weekend. We found a nice oldie but it was in great shape with no spider cracks on the transom and no soft spots what so ever. It has 200 HP 2 Stroke 2001 Yamaha engine that is in great condition and pretty well maintained. We got it for a cool 25 flat. Im based at Barnegat Bay and this is my first boat. My First question is if anyone has any good resources pertaining to learning how to drive a boat aswell as learn to use Electronics to navigate. ive has some experience with fish finders but only in bass tournament settings and i was not the one driving so i never had to navigate. Im looking forward to learning and sharing with this great community here.

Hi Alexm225, Welcome to ClassicParker, and congrats on your first, and new-to-you boat!....
As for learning resources, check (online) if there are any US Power Squadron's and their affiliated classes in your area, (I think they may have changed their name to Americas Boating Club). Also check if US Coast Guard Auxiliary classes may be available in your area. Another resource of very basic information is BOAT/US, and they have a number of online 'classes' , tutorials and videos. So does the US Power Squadrons and Coast Guard Auxiliary. With that said, the best way to learn how to run a boat, how to navigate and how to use electronics is hands-on, on-the-water instruction from a competent skipper. Ask around locally if there are any available who are willing to help out. The US Power Squadrons (US Boating Club?) teaches basic Boating Safety Classes, and also have a series of advanced classes that teach seamanship, chart work, navigation, advanced navigation, celestial navigation and also classes on modern electronics (GPS, RADAR, SONAR, etc)....
