Just a quick introduction here. My name is Paul and we have a 2005 2310 / F250. It is docked at Marina Bay Docking in the upper Pt Judith Salt Pond in RI. We're not new to Parker, but are new to this forum.
And it's collective knowlege is priceless. I tried 2 very lengthy intros last week, and each bombed out when I tried to submit them. so we'll see if this one goes.

Regards, Paul

Nice intro Paul - that took! Welcome aboard, step right in and pull up ... in your a Parker :D ! That means we need more pictures and info you have to share ;) .

to Classic Parker and the Parker Nation.

As Dave (aka 'Porkchunker') coined ... we are your on-line Parker Owner's Manual.

It's my pleasure to meet all of you. I am a former disk drive engineer from Shrewsbury, MA. My wife and I retired here in South Kingstown RI in 2005. That was when we bought the 2310 from Don's Marine in Tiverton. The salesman was Tom Grimes and everyone at Don's Marine is just great. When we bought the Parker, the only other boat that was in purchase consideration was the GW 232 G'stream. But it was $30K plus and I was just starting retirerment and couldn't justify the extra
money. Options on the boat are the full transom with the F250, hardtop with full enclosure, windlass, cockpit coaming pads (which now have some tooth punctures in one from a very angry small mako that I lifted by the tail into the boat), spreader lights, wipers, and fresh and raw washdowns.
I understand that most of you folks on the forum are PH and CC folks, but the WA had features that we liked. My son, Parker Neil, does all the chores. With the 4th season on the boat, he still spends 2-3 hrs on boat cleanup after every trip. One nice thing that I added. I did not opt for the hardtop mounted rocket launcher. Instead, I took a cue from GW, Albemarle, and CC and mounted TACO Cuda Clamp rod holders on the side piping of the hardtop. Three per side. They look great, and are easy to reach. And if anyone on the forum needs anything, don't hesitate to e-mail me.

More later,
Regards again, Paul

I'm partial to the WA also.

Welcome to CP. And...I'm going to have to talk with Dale about using my welcome message. He has now surpassed me in the post count...using my welcome...how humiliating.

Welcome to you.

The 2310 and 2510 are on my very short list of boats that I am looking at also as a retirement purchase. GW is on the list but the Parkers are 1st on the list :D . The Walkarounds suit my style of fishing.

Once again, Welcome Aboard, you couldn't find a more cordial bunch of folks than the Parker Nation.

Welcome aboard Paul!

You spend clean-up time after each trip?
I like your style! :D

There are quite a few differences between the 2310 and the 2510. Not just in size, but rather in construction - I believe. We really liked the clean finished look of the 2310 inside. I think that the inside is all one molded piece. And we liked the raised helm deck. When there is fishy water sloshing around the fishing cockpit, it only goes up as far as the raised deck. Oh, one of the things that I did was to pop out the scupper screens. They were always getting clogged with fish scales and fishy matter.

And I noticed that the new 2510 does not have a radio box. Our VHF, and stereo sound radios are up in that box with just 2 speakers, one on each side of the box. However, the new Parkers have nice metal through hull fittings. They look a lot nicer than my white plastic ones.

I have also read a lot about the transom heavy design of the Parkers. Larger trim tabs, ballast in the anchor locker, Permatrims etc etc. This year, we maintained the fuel level between about 60 gals minimum and about 110 gals maximum. No filling up to the 150 gal max. This reduces the weight at the transom and provides a better static balance to the boat. We have the full transom / bracket with the big heavy 4 stroke. So it is a bit stern heavy. I do love talking about our boat and hope that you folks don't mind if I get a little long winded.

More again later,
Regards,
Paul
