Non skid in cockpit of 2320

Has anyone on here applied non-skid to floor on the inside of the pilot house? I bought a 2014 2320 and am surprised there is no non-skid in there. I find it very slippery when entering the pilot house and want to add it.

Any suggestions? Anyone else feel the same way?

This is what I did to help with slip and stains.

Was using a coupon from west advantage email and was told I could not use my $20.00 off because tiles were on sale today. Well $4.71 a tile at West Marine is a great buy so I bought the rest of the tiles so I can put in cabin of pilot house and saved $1.50 each...just thought I would share if anyone else is looking into floor project.

Well I got the floor installed today

yep! recently redid the nonskid in my cockpit and added an approx. 36"x12" non skid patch as you step down into the house and the same at the helm.

for the cockpit I just mixed and rolled gel/nonskit grit.

Inside the house I taped off the area... rolled the gel/grit mixture down... right when it started to kick I tipped it with a brush to give it a little more aggressive texture. Turned out great!

I bought the non skid mats they sell at west marine they are 1x1 and lock together like a puzzle I cut out round the seat pedestals I got them in the color tan and look pretty good in my opinion. The down side is I take them out every few weeks to wash floor.

Check out kiwi grip- comes in many colors. I did a 23 Mako deck and was very pleased

I had the same problem slipping inside the cabin. I bought a simple commercial "walk off mat" for the cabin floor. Simple to roll up when cleaning. Fits perfectly, and cheap. Just google "walk off mats", and you will have many choices and sizes. I also bought a larger one for the cockpit. I roll it up when fishing and then after cleaning and hosing the boat I lay it back down so I don't get soaked laying on my stomach when turning off the annoying location of the battery switches in the 2320.

I made a template and had a piece of sand-colored indoor outdoor carpet cut and bound to fit the entire pilot house, and a small pc to go between the berths for $150. I put a couple of pcs of velcro in the corners to hold it in place. Looks great, no-slip and it quiets the pilot house considerably. Very happy with it. I can take it out in seconds to clean.

I did a similar thing.
Made a cardboard template then cut a piece of inexpensive indoor/outdoor carpet I found at Home Depot.
Attached it to the pilothouse floor with velcro.

It's been in there for a couple of years now and it still looks fine.
No more slipping!

I just used an inexpensive door mat from Lowes. Cut it around the helm etc.. Works great and I just take it out from time to time and hose it off. Drys fast and has rubber backing so the water from wet feet etc stays on top.

I went to Home Depot and bought a black diamond pattern shop foam floor mat. Have used it for 2 years now and it is still good as new and works perfect.,as I recall, it was less than $15.

Comes out easily for cleaning.

I did what Kevin did, cost me about 40$. I made the template then took it to a local carpet shop and them cut it out .

Its been about three years back, but Im thinkin $ 300.00 . But if you send them a copy of your template they will e-mail you a cost. plus send samples of the carpet your interested in.

Thanks to this post I found 'snap in carpet'. They are still in business and still provide a great product with good customer service and a quick turn around time after they receive your template.

I just did my 2120. It really quiets the boat down while underway with the cabin door shut.

OK call me cheap, but at 6'2" a hat and boots on I am very close to the top of the pilot house. I didn't want to add something that would add another 1/4 - 1/2", so remember grandma's shower mat? Cheap, flat, does not hold moisture and easy to remove for clean up's, best thing I have found so far.
