OEM rod holder question

I have a 1999 2100 DVCC and have been trying to use the under gunnel OEM rod holders,the ones that have an aluminum bracket with a plastic/nylon insert/ring. Well the rings are a pita to spin/rotate? What would you recommend lubing them up with?

Bomb or Yam or Merc blue-colored waterproof synthetic grease. All OB makers sell it, and it comes out of the same factory, but anything with a US label on it will be 1/2 to 2/3rds the price of same product wearing a Jap label.

FWIW I buy the 1-pound tub and repack small cartridge tubes, works great!
