Has any one ran there anchor line back to the cock pitt and use there spring cleat to cleat off the line. Or would you have to put on pullys system to keep the line off the bow railing. Iam running a 2520 parker using it for charters and running up front all the time for the anchor when my mate is no with me is getting old and so am I

Many guys up here in the NE anchor from the 'pit' but all also do so with a continuous loop bridle run from the pit to the bow. You always want the pull from the stem. They also retrieve using a ring&ball.

this is what i do, and there are probably many ways to achieve the same result. after i have set the anchor, i use a one or two of my 25 ft dock lines and tie loop knot to the anchor line just forward of the bow roller. i then let some more anchor line out which also takes out the dock line. then i pull in the dock line to the desired length (turns the boat more beam to) and cleat to the spring. you can adjust the angle by how much dock line you pull in. you can also switch to the other side like FF says to move the boat around. all of this is done under the bow rail like normal anchoring.

when you are done, retrieve the anchor line until you can reach and untie the loop knot just forward of the bow roller......then all is back to normal.
