I have seen some nice color combinations on Parkers. I am thinking of going carolina blue on the hull sides of my 1801. Are the boats I see painted or gelcoated in that color?

cheaper and easier to paint it. a little easier to scratch but not bad. are you going to change the offwhite part above the rubrail? id be interested to see what it looks like with the offwhite and blue. most boats are white white and some other color. I thought about it but didnt think any color really would look that good without having to repaint the entire boat.

Don't know of any gelcoat colors other than white. All of the colored hulls in my area are painted. The paint finish hold up much better than getcoat as far as shine (in my opinion). But like BradV mentioned, the paint scratches easily and you'll cringe every time you hear a sinker bounce off of the hull. I'm partial to green with a gold boot. I've seen navy blue although I wasn't crazy about the way it matched with the off white. But another color that I thought looked great on the hull is fighting lady yellow.

I am gonna do the ice blue with a 3 inch black boot stripe, I got the idea from a local jones brothers 18 I saw. The blue is awesome with the Parker gel coat color. This in addition to the black powder coating on all the chrome. Gonna look sweet.

Mine is a painted hull with the original Parker gelcoat on top.

That Ice Blue should look great. And I would think that with the light color, scratches won't be that noticable.
