I love the classic colors of my boat however i fell in love with the paint scheme on a jones brothers this fall. I really like the ice blue hull sides. Has anyone done this? If so what pant is reccomended?

A simple question with a not-so-simple answer.

There are many marine (and automotive) finishes these days that work great on fiberglass, one of which is DuPont Imron.

Key to getting a great paint job is exceptional prep, which is where most of the cost of a good refinish job is to be found.

If you want to see what is required of a first class paint job, read this:

Be forwarned though... that thread is already 21 pages long.

If my boat sells, I will be getting a Judge 27 and getting the Ice Blue hull sides. Judge offers the colors in either gell coat or awegrip. I am not sure which way I would go.

Here is the color scheme I hope to get:

Although I wonder what vivid red bottom paint would look like with it

I work for Toyota and our body shop manager said he would do it, he reccomended either imron or awlgrip as well. They do really good work at the shop I feel pretty confident it will look perfect.

You are well on your way!

Please document the process in photos and post it in the "Projects" section.
I'm certain it will become a classic addition to the CP knowledge base! 8)
