I'm looking at either a 2300DV or a 2501DV center console for my next boat. I want a boat that I can handle solo, but want the ability to carry another couple behind the rocket launcher in a flip down seat if possible. I know the 2501 has this option. Is this possible with a 2300? What about these 2 boats - any general comments?

There is a much larger difference between those 2 hulls than simply 2' of length.
For one, the beam on the 25 is 9' 6", the 23 is a foot less.

Go to the Parker web site and check the specifications of both boats (including the weight difference if trailering), and see which model suits you best.

I will be keeping this boat on a lift, and really don't expect to trailer it except in the event of a hurricane. I like the idea of the twin 150's on the back, but at the same time, the 2300DV with a 250 might be a little better suited for 1 or 2 people for 80 % of the time. And yes, I'm sure it would be quite a bit easier to trailer. I've been told that the twin 150's are adequate, but I've also read posts suggesting more horsepower is desirable. Any comments from owners of either boat?

Don't have any experience on a 2501 except at the dealer lot. Would be happy to answer any questions you have about the 2300 though. Just send me a pm and I'll get you my email and/or cell.

I have had my 2300 DVCC with an F250 for nearly two seasons now. The boat rides well and also drifts well. Its 21 degree bottom is a decent compromise. I regularly fish with a total crew of four people. Six people is fine for a short cruise. I ordered my boat with the forward seating deleted. It gives a bow that is much better for fishing.

I would expect that the 2500 would not ride quite as well since it has a foot more beam. But it is probably more stable on the drift.

The 2300 has enough room on the transom interior to mount a flip down seat if you wanted. The 2500 has room for a wider seat. In either case, the seat would take away some fishing room because you can't get as close to the transom. If I were using the boat primarily for fishing I would not want a seat.

I would be happy to answer any specific questions about the 2300 DVCC if I can.
