For the price of the pie plate and for knowing the bedding is good. I would just replace the pie plates every 3,4,5 years.
Why is it needed to replace the pie plate? My are 15 years old. I did replace the o ring once but I don’t care what o rings you use they all will leak. I Silicone them in for the season and then pull out and dry out tank with fan then silicone back. No leaks !!

I said this Marty because my 07 ones were leaking...probably from the bedding but not completely sure if that and o rings or not. Anyway, I called my local Parker dealer, Starling Marine, checking on new O rings and found I could just buy brand new pie plates for about $10 each. They were off white and matched better and they were the style where the plate covered (overlapped) the whole frame. As I was wanting to re-bed them anyway, it was worth $20 to just put new ones in vs. dicking around finding o rings for 12 year old pie plates. Main point is that they are just not that expensive. It’s the route I went with anyway. I also replaced my main bilge hatch. It was bowed some from stepping on it and age. Also leaking. I think that was about $70.

Who makes the hatches?

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

This is who makes them Brent. Innovative Products. When I called my Parker dealer they actually had it cheaper than on-line. I think it was around $78? Double check the color but I’m pretty sure their arctic white is the one that matches Parker off white. This is the exact stock bilge hatch on my 07 2120. As I mentioned, the pie plates ended up around $10 each. I like them better than the old ones as at least water can’t get in directly through the top.

Yea, the bilge hatch is not high super quality/heavy duty. I figured that if these cheaper replacement got me another 7 to 10 years, at that point or sooner I may be cutting out the fuel tank and redoing that stuff. If so, I would upgrade & maybe enlarge the bilge hatch and replace pie plates again then. I’ve got my son off to college in a couple of years so my plan was to keep Cat’s Cradle for quite some time.
