Hi!

I'm trying to decide between a center console and a 2320 pilot house. Every time I have looked at a 2320 it has been in a cool air conditioned showroom and it seems like a great boat. Absolutely love it!. Wondering what's it like on the water in warm weather. Could be incredible, could be amazingly uncomfortably hot! I really appreciate any opinions about Parker Pilot House boats in warm weather.

Thanks!

I have never had a problem with it being to hot in my 2320. Open the windows and always get a nice breeze coming through. Actually is cooler in there then out on the deck i go in there a lot to get out of the heat and sun. Go with the 2320 now that i own a pilot house i will never go back. Just my .02

The only time the pilot house can get hot is when sleeping on the boat on a breeze less night, but you probably wouldn't be able to comfortably sleep on a CC either, so the pilot house wins again.

As mike said, I'll never buy another boat without one.

360 fishability? the CC wins.

All round comfort and usefulness?? Pilot house.

I was concerned about the same thing however, since owning my boat I've never had to think about it because there is absolutely no discomfort. You will not be disappointed with a pilot house.

Thanks so much for the replies. I have always thought the Parker Pilothouse boats are such a perfect design. The first time I saw a Parker was at a boat show in 2007. At the time I owned a Sea Ray 270 Sundeck. I climbed onto the 2320 and I commented how much bigger (and probably more expensive) it was than my Sea Ray. Wow was I surprised when the rep told me it was a 23' boat! The layout really made me think it was about 30'. I had been looking at Seaswirl 2601's, etc and they all seemed smaller (less usable space) than the 2320.

A few questions...

Is there ever a problem on plane seeing over the bow? Especially since you step down to get into the cabin. Seems like that could possibly be an issue.

Are the 2320's all deep V hulls? I'm looking at boats 2005 and newer only. Everything I have seen says 21 degree deadrise. I know everyone says definitely go with deep V, but not sure if the 2320 ever came in a modified V that I should be avoiding.

And finally, where should I look for used Parkers for sale? I know there's a for sale section here. Also, iboats, boattrader, yachtworld. Anything else?

Thanks!

I don't have a problem seeing over the bow however i am 6'3, also my 2000 doesn't step as far down as the new ones do my PH is taller.

I am pretty sure that all 2320's as new as 2000 are all DV's I may be wrong but i dont recall seeing a MV 2320.

Craigs list and any of those other sites you listed is a good place to start , and obviously keep checking in here in the classifieds section.

Yeah I tried to call about that one this morning but got voice mail. Looks good. It has some nice extras, but price seems a little high, no?

Also a 2008 on the east coast that's a bank repo, asking $45k but with 200HP motor and also some minor damage (nicks) on one side of the hull. Salesman said they think the anchor came loose while the boat was running and scraped up the side a bit. Otherwise looks great. It's a 2008 and has only 40 hours. Not sure what it would cost for gelcoat repairs. Salesman says it's definitely cosmetic only. May be tough to match the color exactly. Also $2500+ for shipping.

I will probably head down to San Diego this Saturday to see the one in the link you posted. Thanks.

If you're going to San Diego, call Joel Swan @ Ballest Point Yachts. He use to sell Parkers and is very helpful. He has a few parkers to show. A nice 2007 2320 asking 55K no trailer. I looked at a private party 2320 in San Diego for 25K. Kinda beat up but very functional. Check "Flyingfingers Charters". Owner, Steve, is very nice and willing to sell.

If you need anymore shopping tips, drop me a line @ [email protected]

Thanks. I finally spoke with Joel today. Seems like a nice guy.

Any thoughts about what is a good price for this boat...

He said it has a dent in the motor bracket (he's going to send me a picture), but otherwise is in good shape. Price is higher than average, but it does have a few extras... transom seating, bait tank, ok electronics. 475 hours. No Trailer. Needs annual service in May. And I will need it delivered to Marina Del Rey (a couple hours drive).

54,9 seems high to me with no trailer and a service needed coming up, Do some research seems to me there is better deals out there, unless he is flexible. just my .02

There's also a 2011 for $57k but I would have to ship it across the country, so probably another $3k on top of that. It's a lot less hours though and does have a trailer. That one looks very nice -- should be, it's less than a year old. But only a 225HP.

What about a 2320 with 200HP motor? Is that underpowered? I generally go out by myself and minimal fishing gear.

Sorry, no luck with PM.
The boat that Joel is showing is nice but no trailer. Seller is not real motivated but boat has been on the market for 4 months that I know about. I'd shoot him a bid in the forties. Also, count on more that 3,000 extra for an East coast boat. More like 5K+. First, you have to fly back there to see it. (Hope it looks like the pictures) Hotel, rental car, meals. You get the picture. I haven't seen anything back East that warrents a trip. Shipping cost go up with the price of oil.

200 hp is not enough. 225 hp is marginal. 250 hp works well. 300 hp, who had one on a 2320?
P.S. Go with a bracket mount.

I agree going with a 250 on the 2320 SL. I believe the majority of used 2320 for sale have 200 or 225 power so you might have to pay a premium for the 250, however 54,9k is too high for a 2007.
