Hello all,

I am currently looking at a 1991 2510 with the AD41 engine. It would be very helpful if anyone could provide insight into common issues with these boats and engines as well. The engine was recently rebuild and is knocking, as described by the seller, and I'm trying to see what I'm in for. Any advice and information is truly appreciated. What would you all value this project at? Photo included below.

Thank you!

Well... I/O's are not want people buy anymore. Just to much "Rusty" maintenance. PITA to work on. Manifolds & Risers, Broken rusty bolts and no room to work.

Tri-axle "Painted" trailer. :( Having had a tri-axle... Never again! Super hard on Bearings and tires. Never mind that it is painted steel and is rusting inside NOW!

This would be a SUPER Had Pass on it. It's a "Money Pit"

Unless you can scoop it up for less than 10k, and REALLY love working on project boats, I’d pass on this one and wait for a better hull. If the engine was “just rebuilt” and is already knocking, there’s probably some significant underlying issues with it. Shelling out more money to either overhaul it again, or replace the engine and leg, doesn’t seem like a great option given that you’re still left with a 33 year old hull with marginal performance due to the I/O setup.

If you’re highly experienced in working with those engines and drive setups, are looking for a project, and can get it cheap, maybe it’s worth looking at. If you’re planning on hiring someone to fix anything that goes wrong with it… pass on this one.
