Looking for a hull to use my 3 year old Honda 90 hp motor. I see a couple older hulls with older motors, most of which are 115's.
Would my 90 provide suitable power on the 1800 hull or would it be under powered. I currently have the motor on an old McKee craft 17 ' Southporter, but I think the parker may be heavier.
I don't need alot of speed, so 25-30 mph is good for me.
Appreciate any input.

Thanks!!

Several years ago I had an older 1800 with an old Evinrude 140 hp 2S. Even that motor with weak compression on a couple of cylinders provided more speed (38-40 kt) than I could use except in perfectly smooth waterways. If you don't want to race around at 40+ mph I think the 90 Honda would provide plenty of performance. I have a Carolina skiff 178 DLV with a 90 Yamaha 45 and it will push that boat over 35 kt. The Parker weighs about 400 lbs more than the skiff but I don't think you would be unhappy with a 90 on it. I would certainly use the Honda rather than buy another motor if it were me in your position.

That's what I am planning on I am in the process of redoing an 1800 that is is currently a work in progress. When I get done with it I plan on getting a 90 or a 115 previously had a 90 mercury on it and the previous owner said it was in the low to mid 30's. If you get a hull let us know what it puts out speed and fuel consumption.

I had a Dusky 17 with a 20 degree deadrise with a 90 hp Evinrude Ocean Pro that would easily run 35 mph when conditions allowed it.
The Parker is a bit heavier but it also has less deadrise, so I would think that Honda would give similar results.

Put a set of trim tabs on the 18 and enjoy it!

Thanks for the input.

I looked at the boat and really liked it. It currently has a motor with 25 inch shaft. My Honda is a 20 inch.
Anybody know if the 20 inch shaft would work on the '89 Parker 1800?

Thanks for any input.

Can't be used unless honda makes a kit to extend it to 25 inches.... But that is usually cost prohibitive.

If the Parker is set up for a 25 inch shaft, you would need to get a 25" lower for your Honda motor in order to make it work.
Not a deal breaker. 25" shafts are available for the Honda, and you could recoup some of your money by selling your 20" lower.

90 merc 2s pushes my 1990 1800 34mph and is fine. Did someone glass up BALLZ transom ? These came from the factory with 20" transoms.
