I bought a 2006 2320 a few months ago. I previously owned a 2004 parker 23 dv cc. I ran a both a 3 blade mirage and a yamaha sws 19 pitch. Both props provided a bow lift on an already light bow. After reading the above posts about the 4 bladed rev 4, I went out and bought the mercury rev 4 19 pitch. It was hard to find. All I can say is WOW. I raised the F250 to the hole second from the top. It was in the top hole. The prop provides excellent stern lift. The boat handles better in turns. Top speed is still 48 mph. Speeds are still the same or slightly better per old rpms. 4500 rpm is still 35 mph 2.8 mpg. However, now 3500 rpm is a new sweet spot at 25 mph 3.1 mpg. Traction is excellent in rough seas. Just set the rpm and the speed barely fluctuates while pushing through a head sea or climbing the backs of waves in a following sea. Even the factory trim tabs seem to be more responsive. I can't say enough great things about my new engine/prop configuration.

How slow is the trolling speed ?
Do you have a link or some info where you found the 4 blade, what was the cost,ect...
And did you try it bvefore lifting to motor to the higher mounting hole ?
Those numbers sound good to me!

For info, B-Faithful has posted Merc site above.

The REV 4 is about $530, and worth it. I might add it seems to improve docking and reverse responsiveness. Is that a word?

For all Yamaha and Merc parts and great service contact Andy Muruno @www.shipyardisland.com

The REV 4 is a direct replacement for a 3 blade Yamaha. That is, you will lose only 100 rpms or so using the same pitch as your 3 blader.

I went to a REV 4 after I raised my motor and it couldn't bite anymore with stock prop. Frankly, I wouldn't bother with the REV 4 if you're not gonna raise motor.

Only trolling I do is live bait fishing, bump motor in and out of gear. Can't tell that REV 4 changed anything.

Almost forgot, REV 4 eliminates the troublesome rubber biscuit (spun prop problems) of stock Yamaha props. The included adapter converts to Merc centers.

The cost was $479. I got it from PropGods, which is an outfit in Sarasota FL that will actually meet you at the boat ramp with all their props. They slap one on and off you go-right down your numbers-and then back in to have them slap on another prop until you zero in on the perfect one. Sure beats buying a bunch of paper weights.

In this case FF got me on the perfect prop the first time. As far troll goes, I am a grouper/snapper kind of guy and don,t troll much. I don,t think it really changed anything, but then again I wasn't really watching that perameter.

I am getting ready to run a 3.0 Liter Optimax 30inch shaft on a custom knotched transom 25ft Bertram Mark II Flybridge.

Before you jump on the 3.0L, take a look at the 3.2L stroker.

Are those holes in front of gearcase torpedo water p/u?

Today I ran my boat with a 4 blade a friend offered to let me try.
It's a Michigan Wheel Apollo XHS 14 3/8 X 18 pitch
Anyone here familiar with this prop ???
My motor is mounted at it's lowest bolting positions so it can be raised 3 holes if necessary.
I notice I get a HUGE rooster tail.
Is that a result of the motor being mounted too low?
The numbers I turned were not much different from the ones with my 3 blade 15 1/4 X 15m polished stainless prop, with the acception of wide open.
3 blade 15 pitch I was at 62 - 6300
4 blade 18 pitch 5800
I'm thinking the Rev 14 5/8 X 17 will be best

Yes. I'll bet if you lean over the transom and look, you'll see water being sprayed foreward towards the transom! If you reach max rpm's with your 3 blader, you'll use the same pitch for your REV 4. Match diameter as close as possible. Merc has a prop calculator at their website.

I raised my 23DV cc 1 hole only. Get great bite in rough water. Kinda afraid to raise higher due to water p/u. Don't know how high I can go.

Did you notice better reverse handling, lower planing speed, or better hole shot?

Performance was no better with this 4 blade I tried today,
But I just got off the phone with Ken @Propgods and I definitely need to raise the motor height 2 holes.
Going to do that 1st, run with this 4 blade prop again to see the numbers and will most likely then go with the Rev 4 17 or 19 pitch.
Also, My gas tank is full to the top, so performance is going to be different than GrouperJim posted as he told me he got his numbers with 1/2 tank of gas.
Why the hell does Parker install the gas tank so far back !!! :x

I think a 19pitch Rev 4 will be too much for your 25ft Parker. I think if you raise your engine up a hole or 2 the 17pitch will be just right.

You will loose 500-600 rpm over your current 15M with a 19pitch Rev4.

I would also strongly recommend trying an 18pitch Enertia Mercury prop.

Just my 2 cents.

Ronnie says he has a 2320. But you may be right about trying the 17 versus the 19. While the rev4 19 works well on my boat (2320 w/f250), Ronnie said that he runs very heavy most of the time. With the 17 pitch 3500 rpm will probably be about 20-22mph, and 4500 will be about 30-32 mph, WOT will be about 5900-6000 rpm 41-43 mph--just my prediction.

Test it with about 75 gal. in it and let me Ronnie.

Another update.
After quite a few phone conversations with Ken @prop gods (this guy is great and happily answered every question! )
I ordered the Rev 4 17 pitch today.
Yesterday, I put my boat on my trailer and raised the motor 2 holes (it was in the very top hole, lowest position)
I then ran it with boat props (the 15 1/4 X 15m Yamaha polished stainless & the 14 3/8 X 18 4 blade that was loaned to me (not a rev 4)
With the 15 1/4 x 15 it was much better, but to do 25 mph I was at 4800 rpm
with NO cavitation and very little bow bouncing, and got on plane very quickly!
With the 4 blade performance was not so good! but I'm not familiar with this brand of prop.
With this 4 blade, plenty of cavitation, took long to get on plane and bow bounced some.
So I ordered the Rev 4 17 pitch based on Ken's and the advice given by a few here.
I should have it later this week (he shipped it out today) and I post my results then!

Another update.
My Rev 4 17 pitch prop came today.
WOW !!!
Now I see why guys have been raving about them.
The blade surfaces are HUGE on this prop,
The other 4 blade prop I tried looks like a toy sitting next to the rev 4 !!!
I was going to run down to my boat, install it and try it out,
but we have a northeast storm we are dealing with up here in the Ma.
Maybe the rain and wind will allow me to get out some time tomorrow!

It is a sexy thing for sure. I am only worried about the 2 hole raise. My fingers are crossed. Keep me posted. If it works out, I will let you know where to send my "lobsta".

Much Better !
Got out today.
Big improvement!!!
Now @ 4000 rpm, I can do 25 mph, give or take a few rpm depending on conditions, and this is with close to a full tank of gas, I also had my 2 seacocks open pulling in water through them.
I'm pretty happy with this prop !
I would still like to transfer some weight from the stern to the bow, I'm thinking about starting by moving my 31 series batteries that are mounted all the way back in the transom outside corners and moving them up near the bow, they have got to be about 75lbs each !
