Hello long time lurker and finally getting around to posting. I have a 2005 2520 SL with the notched transom. The motor is at the 2nd from top hole on the transom. The motor is a yamaha 250 4 stroke. I was thinking about upgrading from the stock yamaha prop to a merc rev 4 17 pitch. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this kind of upgrade on a notched transom and if they had good experience. I did a search of the forum and did not see anyone doing a prop upgrade on a 2520 SL with a notched transom. Thanks in advance.

Buy the 17p rev 4 and don't look back. I had the mirage plus...worked great but couldnt get the lower planing speed I wanted. I'm on plane at 3900 rpms sometimes. Fuel burn has been alot lower for me and my motor likes the low rpm cruising. I have the same boat as you...

Brian,

Thanks it looks like I'll go with the rev 4. What hole on the transom do you have your motor located. Do you think I'll need to adjust the position of the motor on the transom?

Mine is secone hole from the top, I could go higher but have no reason to...I'm satisfied with the performance now.
